Beyond the Hype: Delivering Financial Value with Liquidity Agent Swarms

Over the past several months, Theoriq has been developing AiFi use cases, furthering its mission to pioneer the agentic economy. Before EthDenver, we released the AlphaSwarm Starter Kit, enabling developers to quickly build autonomous trading agents. As part of this release, we engaged with leading participants in our ecosystem, including projects, traders, market makers, and venture capitalists. Along the way, we’ve refined our perspective on agents, DeFi and the agentic economy and identified valuable use cases.

To advance our vision for the agentic economy, we believe it is essential to develop AI agent swarms that participate as first-class, native actors within DeFi ecosystems.  Within this economy, liquidity stands as one of the key “layers” of the stack.

Liquidity is evolving: Decentralized Exchange (DEX) volume has risen dramatically this cycle, new on-chain capabilities are emerging, such as dynamic liquidity in DEXes, on-chain perps, Central Limit Order Books (CLOBs), and intent networks. The impact has been significant. Alongside this, the flip side of liquidity–yield–is evolving too. Meanwhile, AI Agents themselves are changing: we’re focused on developing agents with stronger business models and utility, while also deepening their integration within the crypto stack.

The Next Steps: AI-Driven Liquidity Provisioning

At Theoriq, we are challenging ourselves to build an AI-driven liquidity provisioning solution and DEX market maker as our next step.

Decentralized finance (DeFi) is evolving rapidly, but liquidity management remains a critical and unresolved problem. Traditional Automated Market Makers (AMMs) provide a foundation for onchain trading, with increasing functionality to manage liquidity positions programmatically. Our conversations with market makers, investors, and DeFi projects have consistently highlighted issues such as liquidity fragmentation, inefficiencies in AMMs, and a lack of dynamically managed liquidity. Theoriq is building an AI-driven AMM manager, designed to actively optimize liquidity provisioning, whether to optimize yield, improve flow or manage treasury positions for projects.

The problem is clear, and the demand for a solution is strong.

This initiative goes beyond improving AMMs—it’s about demonstrating the power of agent collaboration and swarming. Liquidity management is inherently a complex problem, suited for agent swarms rather than monolithic agents: data analysis, risk assessment, execution, and real-time adjustments all require coordinated actions. Theoriq’s AI AMM manager will bring together data agents, analytics agents, strategy agents, and execution agents, each playing a key role in optimizing liquidity in real-time.

We recently highlighted this vision in our blog below.

Empowering Agent Swarms on the Theoriq Protocol

Managing liquidity dynamically isn’t a problem a single AI model can optimally solve. It requires multiple agents working in unison, analyzing data, predicting market conditions, adjusting liquidity ranges, and executing onchain transactions. Theoriq’s swarming AI architecture is designed for exactly this kind of decentralized decision-making.

This capability is enabled by Theoriq’s agent coordination protocol. The protocol enables AI agents to swarm, communicate, and collaborate, forming a self-optimizing liquidity network that dynamically adjusts based on market conditions.

Reinforcement Learning For Dynamic Liquidity

We are framing this challenge as a reinforcement learning (RL) problem. In this setup, AI agents learn the optimal liquidity placement based on trading volume, volatility, and price movement. Liquidity provisioning is an ongoing optimization problem with constantly shifting variables, and Theoriq treats this as a RL challenge. Our swarms of agents learn and adapt based on real-time market dynamics, offering a competitive advantage over static AMM models that can’t adjust to changing liquidity needs.

In our latest X post we gave a sneak preview of what our research team, led by Co-Founder Ethan Jackson, have been working on.

This adaptive strategy ensures liquidity is always positioned where it’s needed most, reducing slippage and impermanent loss.

Building in Public: Collaborating for Progress

We’re not starting from scratch. The Theoriq protocol, AlphaSwarm, and AI coordination models provide a strong foundation for this next phase. This AI-powered AMM manager is the culmination of our work in agent-based finance, and we’re ready to bring it to life.

This is an opportunity to build in public, actively collaborating with developers, liquidity providers, and market participants to refine the system. By sharing insights and learnings, we can showcase the power of AI in DeFi and attract greater ecosystem engagement.

Between now and Token 2049, we will be hosting X spaces each Thursday to share our vision and progress with our community.

First up, we'll be hosting an X Space with Teng Yan (@0xPrismatic), Founder of Chain of Thought (@cot_research) and a leading voice in crypto and AI. He’ll join our leadership team to share the latest industry insights and to discuss the Agentic Economy and our next steps in detail.

Make sure to tune in on March 20th at 10 AM EST! 👇

Each subsequent Thursday, we will be showcasing our progress and providing insights from our partners, building to the beta release of our AMM manager at Token 2049.

We will highlight several core components from our solution including:

- Data integration from the @graphprotocol @streamingfastio and @cookiedotfun (demo target date: Thursday April 3rd)

- AI price forecasting (demo target date: Thursday April 10th)

- Managing @uniswap liquidity pools by an agent (demo target date: Thursday April 17th)

Together, these components underpin the AMM manager, which we plan to demonstrate on Thursday April 24th.

At Theoriq, we’re not just building another AMM manager – we’re reshaping how liquidity is managed within the decentralized economy. By leveraging AI agents, reinforcement learning, and dynamic coordination, we are creating a more intelligent, responsive, and scalable liquidity solution for DeFi. Our vision is clear: to lead the way in the Agentic Economy by continuously evolving and integrating AI-driven agent swarms deeper into the crypto stack.

As we continue to build in public and engage with the ecosystem, we’re excited to share our progress and collaborate with developers, market participants, and stakeholders. Together, we can shape the future of decentralized finance and unlock the true potential of AI in the Agentic Economy.  And that starts with an agent swarm that has utility and adds value to the wider ecosystem.
