Theoriq at ETHDenver 2025: AI Agent Economies and the Current State of AiFi

ETH Denver 2025 proved to be an insightful experience for the Theoriq team as we engaged with builders, investors, and fellow Crypto AI innovators. Over the course of the event, we sponsored or co-hosted three hackathons, dedicated a booth to showcase our technology, and contributed to key discussions on AI-powered finance (AiFi) and the evolving agentic economies.

A Week of Engaging Panels and Keynotes

Our week kicked off at the BUIDL Hub, where we mapped out our engagements before CEO and Co-Founder Ron Bodkin took the stage to highlight how AI Agents are catalyzing the shift toward agentic economies. His presentation set the tone for an event filled with conversations about AI-driven innovation in decentralized finance (DeFi) and beyond.

Key Discussions and Panels

DePIN x AI Summit by CrunchDAO: Our CEO Ron participated in a panel exploring the intersection of AI Agents and decentralized physical infrastructure networks (DePIN), emphasizing the potential of these two emerging verticals.

dAGIhouse Agents Day: Theoriq Chairman, Jeremy Miller, shared his vision on how agent economies are reshaping DeFi, particularly in the realms of on-chain liquidity provisioning and yield optimization. The energy in the room was electric, with builders interested in exploring the next steps in partnering for further product development.

Open AGI Summit: Ron returned to the stage to discuss the expanding role of AI Agents in Web3 and the broader digital economy, reinforcing the advantages of AI-first infrastructure for scalable decentralized applications.

Crypto Catalyst Summit by Hack VC & J17Crypto: AI-powered finance remained a focal point, as Ron provided insights into the market’s evolving landscape and the growing need for intelligent financial automation in the blockchain space.

AI Agent Framework Panel by Hyperbolic Labs: Jeremy exchanged ideas around tokenomics and GTM strategies with some of the top minds in collaborative AI, including leaders from Virtuals, Eliza, and Arc.

Theoriq Booth: Showcasing AlphaSwarm and Agentic Finance

Throughout the week, our booth served as a hub for engaging discussions around Theoriq’s tech and its role in the future of agentic finance. Attendees and developers showed keen interest in how AI-powered agents could drive efficiency, optimize market dynamics, and unlock new financial opportunities. We were thrilled to see increasing brand awareness and deeper engagement with leading AI agent ecosystems and industry leaders.

Hackathons and Industry Collaborations

The team was actively involved in some of the busiest hackathons at ETH Denver, including:

  • BUIDL Hub Hackathon, where we worked alongside emerging AI projects, reinforcing our commitment to developing scalable and efficient AI Agent frameworks.
  • Hyperbolic Labs' PMF or Die Hackathon, the team rubbed shoulders with industry leaders from Hyperbolic and their extensive ecosystem.
  • Super Agent Hackathon hosted by Story Protocol, where our team judged projects using Theoriq’s Alphaswarm and leading agentic frameworks and AI infra.

Key Takeaways: AI Agents are the Talk of the Town

One of the biggest takeaways from ETH Denver was the undeniable momentum behind AI Agent ecosystems. Despite a slight decline in overall attendance compared to last year, interest in AI-powered DeFi products remained strong. Key trends we observed include:

  • All projects are exploring the opportunity to incorporate AI in existing products or ecosystem to create a new advantage, reflecting the AI agent’s dominating mindshare and initial traction.
  • AI Agent frameworks are gaining traction and are expanding vertically, with major projects focusing on building comprehensive ecosystems and add-on services that include launchpads, marketplaces, and incentives for developers.
  • Market making and yield optimization proven to be high-impact use cases in DeFi, reinforcing the demand for intelligent, AI-empowered financial tools to deliver better outcomes.
  • Growing collaboration among AI ecosystems for better user experience beyond just launching individual agents, signaling a shift toward more integrated and interoperable solutions.
  • Investors and L1/L2 projects are betting on real traction, prioritizing projects with demonstrable success rather than theoretical concepts.
  • Later-stage AI projects are primarily focused on distribution and mindshare, indicating intensifying competition and the need for  viable GTM strategies to achieve Product-Market-Fit.

Looking Ahead

Our experience at ETH Denver 2025 reaffirmed our vision for AI-powered finance and the role Theoriq aims to play in the next wave of AI-driven decentralized economies. With strong connections built and valuable insights gained, we look forward to deepening our partnerships and continuing to push the boundaries of AI Agents in DeFi and beyond.
